Arlington...

So yesterday was mum's birthday. Went to the Hong Kong market place somewhere in Arlington. Mum wanted to check out the place after hearing how good it was. So off we went and to our dismay...it really wasn't as good as what we expected (so much for high expectations after someone's review). All things sold were not fresh and old. Just looking at it you wouldn't feel like buying it anymore. In fact we weren't really keen on looking around anymore especially after the chilly walk from the car to the indoor place. It's getting REALLY COLD!! Although the sun is up...the strong cool breeze kills!!! Furthermore the prices are higher...much much higher!!! Funny though the place was managed by vietnamese. In fact the whole area looked more like little vietnam with vietnamese restaurants and even a music shop filled with local vietnamese artists. No wonder the lady in that shop looked stunt when we walked in.

So we celebrated mum's birthday in some vietnamese restaurant. Portion of food...BIG!!! If you think the portion back in msia's vietnam kitchen restaurant is BIG...this then will be HUMONGOUS!!! Was struggling to finish up my meal (cannot waste money...haha). Taste...fair lah...I prefer the spring rolls back home. But the beef noodles were GOOD. And their meat...simply yummy. Left the place with a bloated tummy. Amazing how dad still had room for more. His slowly developing a tummy though. Which reminds me, I had a lil chat with my brother last nite just bout this...and since dad was asking if koko had any msgs for him...my bro cheeckily said -- EAT LESS!! BELLYS ARE NOT ALLOWED!!! EXERCIZEEEE!!!! He still has he sense of humour alright. Sadly he delivered some bad news to us last nite. His visa wasn't approved. SIGHHHHHH...but he'll be trying to appeal or something lah. Hopefully they are kind enough to approve it now lah. But it's good to hear from him again. He's pretty much settled there as though he's one of their own. He's happy with his TA (teaching assistant) and RA (research assistant) job. In fact recently he's tutoring a child with ACDC (don't exactly know what it stands for but someone who needs a whole lot of attention and guidance as well as PATIENCE) and he's enjoying it...helping the disabled that is. With that 2 jobs...it's really a blessing (finnancially) so thank GOD for that!!!

Ok back to where I was earlier...bloated tummies. Yea...so dad asked for some directions to Parks Mall (a street filled with huge huge malls). The size of 1 is equivalent to midvalley...just not as many storeys. But it was huge alright...we walked almost the whole day!!!! Leg aching and whole body shiverring once in a while...REALLY COOLLLDDDDD!!! *brrrrr* People here are really really nice and POLITE!! The whole day at the mall I've been hearing this phrase "How you guys doing?"..."How can I help you today?"..."Are you guys alright?"..."Is there anything I can get for you?"..."How you guys doin??" (haha I hear this the most) and when we're about to leave...they'll ALWAYS say "have a nice day y'all!!!!" But one think I like most about them is that they don't follow you everywhere u go. Just call them if you need help. Say that you're just looking around (ONCE) and they'll leave you alone...not like back in msia where they'll keep following you and bugging you which totally spoils my mood to shop (hehe). And people are really polite here. They dun simply push or bang you to get their way. Even if they're not in the way...they'll appologize.

Then on our way back we headed to the "always low prices" -- WalMart!!! Mum ran out of groceries...so there we were...one first footstep into WalMart!! Wahahaha...(so sua ku rite???)Oh and dad was pushing the trolley and the lady infront dropped something or was tying her shoelase or something but we didn't realize she stopped...so we were still walking forward...we almost ran into her bum...(she was kinda huge). *phew* It's a good thing we didn't...she could take ALL of us down!!!! But infact loads of ppl here are HUGE...like obessed society or something...SERIOUS!!! (I feel so small ere...wahaha). But it's a fact that texas has the highest percentage of obessed people!!!(no joke)

Hhmm..will upload the pics soon. Camera batteries dead. Forgot to charge them last nite. So till then...adiozzz!!! Have a nice day y'all!!!
