Be still

Can’t believe the weekend has come and gone, yet again. Time has just been passing  by so quickly! It’s almost the time of the year where we bid our goodbyes to friends, not knowing the next time we’ll meet again. It’s amazing what 2 years (well slightly less than that) of friendship can be. Especially when you’re out in a foreign land, where everything else around you is foreign, friends like this makes all the difference.

I hate goodbyes. Yet, in life they are inevitable. I guess it is starting to hit me, being in that phase where friends are leaving. Sure there’s always others that’d cross our path in this life but the thought of going through the whole process of trust and friendship right from the very beginning scares me. Especially when circumstances will be so different altogether in the working world. On one end, I just can’t wait to finish and graduate, yet the thereafter which seems not so faraway now scares me. This uncertainty is now getting to me. Perhaps it’s the addition of the nerves knowing it’s week 4 tomorrow, which means my very first assessment.

I always don’t think this is coincidence, when I talk about something and the song on my playlist speaks to me…

Lord, in times like this, I will be still and know that You are God!

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still, O restless soul of mine
Bow before the Prince of peace
Let the noise and clamor cease
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still
Be still, and know that He is God
Be still, and know that He is God
Be still, and know that He is God
Be still; Be speechless
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still, Be still
